The Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal (KZN)

The battle at Isandlwana in 1879, where the Zulus defeated the British and were then subsequently held off at Rorke’s Drift is the most famous episode in the history of this region. In 1900, the hill tops echoed again as the Battle of Spion Kop (Spioenkop) unravelled during the second Boer War.

There are a number of self-drive routes and undoubtedly a stay at one of the famous lodges in this area, where expert guides can introduce you to the stories of the Zulu Anglo Boer War is a must.
