Kibale National Park

Most people coming to Kibale come to join a chimp trek and see the many primates in the forest – it is one of the best places to see habituated chimps.

The best months for trekking are during the dry season months of mid Novermber-February, June and September. Apart from the famous chimps you can also see red colobus, black and white colobus, red tailed monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, bushbuck, buffalo and mongoose. Forest elephants are rather elusive! The park has over 300 bird species and many beautiful butterflies.
